Styling the Aperture Collection
The Aperture Collection has a quiet presence and invites personal expression. With generous surfaces and sculptural form, each piece becomes a canvas — styled with books, vessels, or found objects to reflect your space. Subtle yet grounding, they bring a sense of calm and considered texture to any room.
Today on the journal, Vertone co-founder Michelle Halford shares her approach to styling the Aperture tables.

Books
I’ve always loved the character and warmth that books bring to a space—the lived-in, personal feel they create. Both tables were designed with room to curate your collection, whether stacked or with covers on display to add visual interest. Try experimenting with different arrangements: on the Aperture Low Table, for example, pair books and offset them between the lower shelf and tabletop. Add sculptural ceramics, candles, or small vases for an effortless, layered touch. The side shelf on the Aperture Side Table keeps books within easy reach and lends itself beautifully to displaying favourite covers.
Focal Point
Create a sense of focus with a sculptural candle holder or statement lamp—pieces that naturally draw the eye and add depth to your arrangement.

Variation and Contrast
Create interest by playing with objects of different heights and a mix of textures—rough and smooth, shiny and matte. To keep things cohesive, I like to carry similar neutral tones throughout. A good rule of thumb is to use a limited palette of neutrals, then introduce one or two accent shades—darker tones like brown or black—that bring contrast and visual depth.
Groupings
The way you group and space objects plays a big role in creating a sense of harmony. Try placing smaller pieces in front of and beside taller ones to build depth, and always leave breathing room between objects to avoid a cluttered look.

Rounded Forms
To soften the clean lines of the tables, I like to include sculptural pieces with rounded edges—they bring a sense of warmth and quiet elegance.
Mix it Up
The tables are designed to showcase the things you love. I like combining cherished pieces—Danish and Japanese design, vintage finds, and handmade objects—each adding its own layer of character and personal meaning to the space.
